To become a pharmacist, you must complete a four-year university degree in pharmacy, followed by a practical year in a pharmacy and, finally, the third state examination. Once you have received your licence to practise, you can work as a pharmacist.

To become a pharmacy technician (PTA), you need to complete a two-year course at a PTA school, followed by a six-month practical placement in a pharmacy. After completing the training, you must pass a state examination.
